How Feeding Strategies Influence Eating DisordersIn a recent study, NIMH-funded researchers asked more than 19,000 adult "picky eaters" to reflect on their parents' feeding strategies when they were children. Using machine learning, researchers found that coercive strategies like forced feedings, parental anger, and being made to finish a meal weren't helpful for an eating disorder known as avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID).
