Empowering and Engaging PLWH With a High-Impact, Patient-Centered Approach

Empowering and Engaging PLWH With a High-Impact, Patient-Centered ApproachOver the last 27 years, the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) has played a critical role in the United States’ public health response to HIV by providing a comprehensive system of HIV primary medical care, medications, and essential patient-centered support services for low-income people living with HIV (PLWH) who are uninsured and underserved. In 2015, more than half a million PLWH received services through RWHAP, which is more than half of people living with diagnosed HIV in the United States. RWHAP uses its patient-centered system of care approach to help clients maintain viral suppression. This video highlights RWHAP’s important services, benefits, and parts, as well as its unique role in fighting HIV. It also brings to life RWHAP’s successful approach to patient-centered care that has been a central tenet of the program for more than a quarter of a century
